Viewu is an iOS client for Frigate NVR, paired with an optional lightweight server for Apple Push Notifications.

Core capabilities

• Live viewing (RTSP/HLS depending on your stack)
• Event timeline with fast filtering
• MP4 exports for event clips
• Optional push notifications when paired with Viewu Server

Design goals

• Prefer safe defaults and explain non-obvious tradeoffs
• Make network issues diagnosable (logs that map to actionable fixes)
• Support both “LAN-only” and “remote access” deployments (VPN and Cloudflare)

• Subscribes to Frigate events via MQTT
• Applies notification template rules
• Sends Apple Push Notifications to paired iOS devices
